Heartburn is a condition that many people suffer from, and it can be quite uncomfortable. It may seem like the only option is to go to a clinic for treatment, but what if there were exercises that could help reduce heartburn? Well, according to this YouTube video, there are!

The first step to reducing heartburn is to understand what it really is. The diaphragm muscle for breathing is attached to the roof of the stomach, and the esophagus travels through it. However, if the diaphragm is tensed up in the middle, it can pinch the esophagus and compromise the closing mechanism that prevents acid reflux, leading to heartburn.

The first exercise that can help reduce heartburn is focused on breathing. Breathing with the diaphragm is essential to relaxing it, so take a deep breath and picture blowing out all the candles on a birthday cake for your 100th birthday. Once you’re out of air, exhale and pinch your nose shut. Then, suck in air with all your might for as long as you can, repeatedly. This exercise is a wonderful stretch for your diaphragm and is a very effective way to reduce heartburn.

The second exercise involves pressing on a pressure point that can help reduce heartburn. You will need a base element from a pressure set or a cone-shaped cork. Place the point of the cone at an angle on either side of the arch of your ribs until you find a tender spot that scores a 9 on your personal pain scale. Stay there for two or two-and-a-half minutes until the pain subsides. When your diaphragm is relaxed, you can repeat the exercise on the other side.

These exercises can be very helpful in reducing heartburn. The pressure point exercise may take some practice and experimentation to find the right spot. However, in most cases, people notice a reduction in heartburn almost immediately.

If you suffer from heartburn, give these exercises a try and let us know how they worked for you in the comments section.
